High ups of government, police associated with drug trading: Rizvi
Senior Joint Secretary General of BNP Ruhul Kabir Rizvi commented that the influential people like ruling party MP Bodi and some section of officers from police high ups are associated with drug trading.
His comment came in at a press conference held at the BNP central office at Nayapaltan in the capital on Tuesday.
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, to destroy the young generation the expansion of drugs was made in a planned way. The godfathers are not being detained. They have become the owners of hundreds of crore taka by doing drug trading.
He said, the flow of extra judicial killing that is going on in the name of drugs eradication, has a deep political motive. And that is killing the opposition party leaders by targeting after filing false case against them.
The BNP leader said, the government wants to create panic in the minds of people keeping ahead the next general election. Nobody has the right to kill people unlawfully. This may not be the scale of combating crimes.
He said, a Chhatra Dal leader was killed in Netrakona last night. We are not against anti drugs drive. Ensure capital punishment for the criminals after bringing them under law suit.
Rizvi said, government has begun this new operation to drive out peoples’ attention into different angle.
He said, police are harassing BNP leaders and activists in the name of searching. He also alleged that police vandalized the home of missing BNP leader Ilias Ali at Banani in the name of search.
BNP Vice Chairman Barrister Haidar Ali, Chairperson’s Adviser Kabir Murad, Joint Secretary General Moazzem Hossain Alal among others, were present in the press conference.
