BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, the present government has gone where there is no existence of people. It has become totally isolated from people. Witness the situation of the country by leaving power just for one day.

He said this at a gathering of DUCSU and all parties’ students’ unity leaders of 1990 at the national press club conference lounge on Tuesday.

Fakhrul said, the government is governing the country by force depending on guns-pistols using the entire state mechanism.

To Awami League he said, leave the power for just one day and witness the situation of the country. In what stage you have taken the country there is no scope for building a modern state. You have demolished all institutions one by one. There is no environment for education in the universities. Chhatra League has occupied the universities.

Fakhrul said, you have seen on the newspapers what type of anarchy is prevailing in the health sector. Physicians are closing the hospitals. Patients are being driven out.

How many days you will keep Begum Khaleda Zia in jail, raising such question the BNP Secretary General said, you will not be able to keep her in jail for long. History does not say that. History says that people are always beside the repressed people. History says that people take position for the persons who were jailed. You certainly will see, people of the country will free Khaleda Zia from jail.

Criticizing Election Commission he said, this commission say reverse whenever is asked something. You are running the commission with a Secretary. He is Mr. Helaluddin. We have heard that he performs his duty till 4 pm. And then he goes to a special office of a special party. There election planning is done for that party and Mr. HT Imam is the chief of that office.

BNP vice chairmen Aman Ullah Aman and Shamsuzzaman Dudu, joint secretary general Khairul Kabir Khokan and others were present in the gathering.
