Schedule not acceptable without release of Khaleda Zia: Fakhrul
Jatiya Oikya Front spokesman and BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, our speech is very clear. Level playing field should be ensured. Equal rights should be given to all. Election schedule will not be acceptable without Khaleda Zia’s release. Now crisis is more difficult, more awful.
He said these at the divisional rally of Jatiya Oikya Front organized at Alia Madrassa ground in Rajshahi on Friday.
Mirza Fakhrul said, this autocratic government has held Khaleda Zia captive. Her treatment was going on in hospital. She was taken to jail from there.
He said, our speech is clear that level playing field should be created. All political parties should be given equal rights. Leaders and workers arrested in false cases have to be released. Otherwise the election schedule will not be acceptable.
The BNP secretary general said, we are holding movement for the last five years to protect democracy. They are making us deprived of democratic rights through showing guns, through police. You have come here ignoring hundreds of obstacles. You have come here overcoming barriers.
Mirza Fakhrul said, we are fighting to liberate Bangladesh creating unity among people in a peaceful way. For that reason we sat for dialogue. We said, parliament have to be dissolved, Khaleda Zia has to be released. But they did not.
To the leaders and activists he said, my question is to you- do you want release of Khaleda Zia? Do you want to bring Tarique Rahman back to the country? Then the demands should be realized through united movement.
The BNP secretary general said, our appeal to the inhabitants of Rajshahi- you are combative people. We can memorize how many people sacrificed their lives in Rajshahi for political movement. We will make the movement to protect democracy success even by sacrificing our lives. Fall of this government will be ensured through people’s movement.
