Defeat of Awami League means bloodshed in country: Quader
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said, there is no alternative to Awami League’s victory in this election. The defeat of Awami League means widespread bloodshed will happen in Bangladesh. Our defeat means the darkness of 2001. Do we want to go back to the darkness of terrorism and corruption?
He said these at an extended electoral meeting of Shwechhasebak League at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital on Thursday.
Obaidul Quader, I am challenging Mirza Fakhrul- what kind of works do you have so that people will vote for you after watching those? You only have ‘Hawa Bhaban’ and ‘Khamba’. People do not want them for their corruption and terrorism.
He said, we will issue final nomination letters within one or two days. It will begin today (Thursday) and will end tomorrow. We have nominated candidates from grand alliance in the election, they will win by huge margin. But there is no atmosphere to be self-satisfied. Everybody has to work being united. Everybody has to sacrifice for the party. Honor will be paid to them if we go to power.
Obaidul Quader also said, BNP has done business in nomination distribution. After not getting the nomination many went to the leaders’ homes to get back money. It was heard that many leaders fled. They will guard the vote centers. We also have to protect the centers. Shwechhasebak League has to be alert in this regard.
