In the Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) election Awami League mayoral candidate AHM Khairuzzaman Liton and BNP mayoral candidate Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul are passing their busy times in election campaign.
They were in field from the Saturday morning. The leaders and activists were holding procession and chanting slogans with symbols of their candidates.
20-party alliance nominated mayoral candidate Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul with symbol of sheaf of paddy began his campaign from Badurtala intersection under ward number 28 of the city. He sought votes from the general inhabitants under the ward. He gave different promises.
During his campaign he said, we have not the minimum belief on the Election Commission (EC). People are the place of confidence. Sheaf of paddy is the symbol of peace and development to the people. You have seen that people of Rajshahi are for this symbol. All together they will vote for sheaf of paddy on July 30.
Meanwhile Awami League mayoral candidate AHM Khairuzzaman Liton began his campaign at 11 am from Budhpara area under ward number 30. He held talks with women and elderly people for development of Rajshahi going door to doors, shook hands with general voters and distributed leaflets.
At that time Liton said, ill efforts are going on to misguide people. No obstruction was made to BNP’s activities. Rather they scratched posters and banners of us. It is BNP’s old habit. They can complain to EC or local administration if they have.
He said, why I was made involved? I am not the CEC or Police Commissioner. In our eyes EC is performing its duty transparently. There is no allegation of harassment.
