People can commute in metro rail by 2019: Quader

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said, the metro rail from capital’s Uttara to Agargaon will start by the year 2019.
He said this while responding to a written question of treasury bench member Momtaj Begum in the parliament on Sunday.
He said the government decided to start metro rail service towards Motijheel by the year 2020.
The minister said, the tenure of metro rail project was fixed from July 2012 to June 2024. To conclude the project speedily the project completion target was set for December 2019.
He hoped that the city dwellers will be able to commute in metro rail according to the target.
Concerned said, if the project is implemented then it will take 37 minutes to come in Motijheel from Uttara. The velocity of this electricity run train will be 32 kilometers per hour. 14 trains each containing 6 bogies will run in the routes. One thousand 696 persons will be able to travel in each train. 60 thousand passengers from both sides will be able to travel in an hour in the rail service.
