List of 8032 Rohingyas handed over: Home Minister
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said, to send back Rohingyas a list containing eight thousand 32 people was handed over to the Myanmar representative team.
He said this to the newsmen after holding home minister level meeting between Bangladesh and Myanmar at the secretariat on Friday.
The Home Minister said, Myanmar government is sincere to take back Rohingyas. They have assured of taking the Rohingyas back after ensuring their living place, means of income and security. They will take back the Rohingyas according to the list they were given in the first phase. But before the process they will verify the list.
He said, the meeting held with cordial manner. They have informed about the erected camps and how the people would be rehabilitated.
Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, at present six thousand Rohingyas are waiting to enter in Bangladesh from the no man’s land. We have told them that the people are still on their border. Take measures to take them back.
Myanmar proposed to hold a meeting on February 20 to discuss about the matter. The procedures to take these six thousand people will be fixed in the meeting.
The visiting Home Minister of Myanmar Lieutenant General Kyaw Swe and his representative team, from Bangladesh Public Safety Division Secretary Mostafa Kamal Uddin, Security Services Division Secretary Farid Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury, Inspector General of Police Dr. Mohammad Javed Patwary and representatives from foreign ministry, BGB and concerned offices were present in the meeting.
