Holey Artisan attack arms supplier on seven days remand
A Dhaka court has granted seven days remand to Hadisur Rahman Sagar, the arms supplier of Holey Artisan attack in Gulshan.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Raihanul Islam delivered the order on Thursday.
Earlier Investigation Officer of the case DB police Inspector Humayun Kabir produced the accused before court and sought 10 days remand.
Police arrested the neo JMB leader Hadisur Rahman Sagar from Shibganj of Bogra on Wednesday night.
The investigation agency of the Holey Artisan case, Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) Unit of police said, evidences were found against 21 neo JMB activists who were associated with planning, preparation, arms and bomb collection, training, coordination and attack of kidnapping and mass killing of foreign nationals.
Of the involved 13 were killed in different drives by law enforcing agencies. The description of the slain militants’ crimes will be mentioned in the charge sheet.
Total seven are arrested at the moment in the case including the two militants Hadisur Rahman Sagar and Hasnat Karim. The other five are, Jahangir Alam alias Rajib Gandhi, Rashed alias Rash, Sohel Mahfuz alias Nasrullah, Rakibul Islam alias Regan and Mizanur Rahman alias Boro Mizan. Police said, these five are very influential leaders and members of neo JMB.
Of them Rajib Gandhi, Rakibul Islam and Mizanur Rahman gave confessional statements to the court.
On July 1, 2016 a militant group suddenly attacked a café named Holey Artisan in Gulshan in the capital and killed 20 people including 17 foreigners.
