Islami Bank Chairman Arastoo Khan resigns
Change has come to the top post of the country’s top ranking private bank Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited’s managing board. Chairman of the bank Arastoo Khan has resigned.
He submitted his resignation letter in the meeting of bank’s managing board on Tuesday. Public Relation Officer of the bank Nazrul Islam confirmed the matter to Rtv online quoting that he resigned showing personal grounds.
Earlier in the first week of current month 5 top officials of the bank’s managing committee were removed. But the bank claimed that they all resigned.
In January last year major change was brought in the bank. At that time managing director and CEO of the bank Mohammad Abdul Mannan was removed without any hint. Besides, managing board chairman Engineer Mostafa Anwar and vice chairman Md. Azizul Haque were also removed.
Then Arastoo Khan was made the chairman of Islami Bank and Professor Syed Ahsanul Alam was appointed as new vice chairman.
