Rtv’s arrangements memorizing March 25

‘What you had to tell, is Bangladesh telling’ with this line from the poem of Asad Chowdhury the moderator of the program Mahidul Islam welcomed the audience on the stage. A number of audiences gathered in the green yard of TSC, most of them were young.

Singing the country songs and the songs of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra the artists paid their tributes to the souls of March 25, 1971 martyrs.

The private television channel Rtv organized the program ‘Andhar Katuk Hazar Aloy’ (Let the darkness move away by thousand lights) at TSC in Dhaka University on March 25. The program began at 8 pm.

Taking part in the program Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Md. Akhtaruzzaman said, the genocide which originated in the horrific night of March 25 was one of the most terrible incidents in the history of genocide. Bangalees are observing the day as the genocide day as an expression of hatred. In that night Dhaka University was the prime target of the killers. Students were killed brutally from the dormitories, general people were also killed here. We pay tributes to those martyrs.

Rtv Chief Executive Officer Syed Ashik Rahman was also on the stage. He said, we pay gratitude to Dhaka University authority on behalf of Rtv for allowing us to hold such an event in this great place. Besides we pay our deep admiration to the martyrs of March 25 and also to all the martyrs of our great liberation war.

In the program admirable personality Ramendu Majumder delivered welcome speech. He said, Pakistani invader forces prompted the genocide which started from March 25, 1971. Some local collaborators assisted them.

After his speech, one minute silence was observed by putting out the lights on the stage. Homage was paid to the souls of martyrs.

Different artists and teams performed songs and dances in the program.

At the end episode there was program of lamp lighting to remember the martyrs at 12:01 am. The program was organized with the credence of driving out the darkness with help of thousand lights.

Eminent personalities including Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan, Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, State Minister for Finance and Planning MA Mannan, Dr. Syed Anwar Hossain, Kazi Firoz Rashid MP, Vice Chairman of Rtv Jasim Uddin, Advocate Nurjahan Begum Mukta MP, Sanzida Khanam MP and Managing Director of Rtv Humayun Kabir Bablu were present on the occasion.

Mahidul Islam and Shakila Matin Mridula moderated the whole program. Rtv telecasted the program live. It was produced by Shahriar Islam. Rtv program department supervised the program.
