First hajj flight on July 14: Minister
Religious Affairs Minister Principal Matiur Rahman said, the first hajj flight from the country is scheduled to take off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to Jeddah International Airport on July 14.
He delivered the information to the newsmen after holding inter-ministerial meeting at the secretariat on Monday.
The minister said, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the formal activities of hajj on July 11. The last hajj flight will leave Dhaka on August 15. The first return hajj flight on August 27 and last return hajj flight on September 25.
He said, in this year one lakh 26 thousand 798 hajj aspirants will go to Saudi Arabia to perform hajj. Of them 6 thousand 798 persons will perform hajj under government management while one lakh 20 thousand persons under private management.
Matiur Rahman said, the visa processing was completed for 6 thousand 114 persons under government management, for 246 of different teams and for 13 thousand under private management. Biman Bangladesh Airlines will carry 64 thousand 967 passengers in 187 flights and Saudi Arabian Airlines will carry 61 thousand 831 passengers in 188 flights.
He said, house rental procedures were completed for the passengers under government management. So far most of the agencies have completed house rental process for the hajj aspirants under private management.
Director (Disease Control) of Health Directorate Sania Rahman said, hajj passengers have to take vaccines as well as they need to perform blood group, blood sugar, x-ray and ECG tastes. These tastes can be performed not only in government hospitals but also in private hospitals. Thus they can avoid harassment.
