Order to shut down 14 clinic-diagnostic centers in capital
The High Court has ordered to shut down 14 clinics and diagnostic centers at Mohammadpur in the capital as those have no approval.
On pretext of filing an appeal Justice Sheikh Hasan Arif and Justice Ahmed Sohel delivered the order on Tuesday. It was said to answer the rule within four weeks.
At the same time, the court issued rule asking to know why running of hospital and clinic without license should not be declared illegal and why order to take legal action against the persons who run those will not be given.
According to the court sources, the hospitals that face shutting down order are- Crescent Diagnostic Center and Hospital, BDM Hospital, Sebika General Hospital, Janaseba Nursing Home, Life Care Nursing Home, Royal Multi Specialty Hospital, Nawab Sirajuddoula Mental Hospital, Monmita Mental Hospital, Plasma Medical Service and Clinic, Shefa Hospital, Islamia Mental Hospital, Mokkah Median General Hospital, New Well Care Hospital and Bangladesh Trauma Specialized Hospital.
It is mentionable, a national Bangla daily published a report with the headline ’26 in 500 meters, 14 illegal hospitals’. Lawyer Monjil Morshed on behalf of Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh filed the writ in the High Court attaching the report.
