The moon of holy Shaban month has been sighted in the sky of Bangladesh. Lailatul Barat or Shab-e-Barat is going to be observed on the night of May 1.
The decision was taken at the meeting of national moon sighting committee held at the meeting room of Islamic Foundation in the Baitul Mokarram national mosque on Tuesday evening. Religious Affairs Ministry Joint Secretary Dr. Moazzem Hossain presided over the meeting.
In the meeting Moazzem Hossain said, according to the information from all district administrations, Islamic Foundation head office, divisional and district offices, Bangladesh meteorological department and Space Research and Remote Sensing Organization the moon of Shaban month of 1439 hizri has been sighted.
The significant night also known as ‘the night of fate’ is observed on the fifteenth night by the Muslim devotees through prayers, Quran reciting, milad and other way of formalities. The following day remains as government holiday.
After ending of Shaban month the holy month of Ramadan comes with the message of joy for the Eid. In the month of Ramadan Muslims used to practice fasting in the day time to refresh their body and minds.
