Bangladesh in Women’s T20 Asia cup final with big win
Bangladesh women’s cricket team in their group stage last match won against Malaysia in the Women’s T20 Asia cup tournament. With this 70 runs win over the host country the tigresses led by Salma Khatun confirmed their position in the final of the top cricket tournament for women in Asia.
In the ongoing tournament to achieve the target of 131 runs to win the Malaysian women were just able to collect 60 runs with loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Salma Khatun, Nahida Akter, Jahanara Alam and Rumana Ahmed bagged one wicket each.
Among the host batters captain Winy Fred Duraisingham scored highest 17 runs.
After winning the toss Bangladesh team elected to bat first. They scored 130 runs losing 4 wickets.
Shamima Sultana scored 43 runs off 54 balls, Ayesha Rahman scored 31 off 27 balls and Fahima Khatun scored 26 runs off 12 balls.
Malaysia’s Duraisingham took two and Shasha Azmi bagged one wicket.
After beating Pakistan and India the team Bangladesh led by Salma showed huge prospect for playing in the final. Then after beating Thailand and Malaysia the tigresses reached in the final of the tournament.
Bangladesh will face India in the final at 12 pm Bangladesh time on Sunday.
