Recommendation to ban cricketer Sabbir for 6 months
Disciplinary Committee of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) wants to ban Sabbir Rahman from international cricket for six months. Board Director Ismail Haider Mallik confirmed the matter to the newsmen at BCB office on Saturday.
He said, the punishment will be active from Sunday if BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon gives consent to the matter.
BCB Disciplinary Committee Chairman Sheikh Sohel and Chief Executive Nizam Uddin Sujan were present at that time.
At the beginning of the year Sabbir was banned by BCB from the domestic cricket for six months for beating a spectator in a match of domestic league. He was also fined 20 lakh taka and excluded from the central agreement of BCB. At present he is facing ban from international cricket.
About the punishment Mallik said, Sabbir and Mosaddek Hossain Saikat faced the disciplinary committee. There Sabbir spoke about his recent activities.
He said, there he (Sabbir) confessed to different matters and expressed regret. His facebook account was hacked.
Sabbir came to the newspaper headlines several times previously for his heated attitude on field and on facebook. He had to count 12 lakh taka fines for unrestrained activities during the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League in 2016.
