6 killed in bus-auto rickshaw collision in Mymensingh
Six people were killed in bus-CNG auto rickshaw collision at Tarakanda in Mymensingh. The victims were the passengers of the auto rickshaw.
The accident took place on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Kakni area under Tarakanda upazila at around 3:45 pm on Friday.
Officer in Charge of Tarakanda police station Mazharul Haque confirmed about the accident. He said that the accident took place when a bus of Imam Paribahan left from Haluaghat collided with a CNG run auto rickshaw coming from the opposite direction.
He also said, five people died on the spot and another critically injured died on the way to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. After getting the information police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies. The deceased all are male and passengers of the CNG auto rickshaw.
One was identified as Sona Mia, the CNG auto rickshaw driver. He was a resident of Godaria area under Phulpur upazila. The other five were, Ayub Ali (55), Abdul Karim (35), Mazharul Islam (19), Salim Uddin (19) and Nazim Uddin Bhuiyan (45). They all were the residents of Nagla Garpara village under Haluaghat upazila.
