BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed said, not only reformation of Election Commission (EC), it needs reformation with people who will be able to exercise constitutional power of EC. They should have brevity, courage and patriotism so that the next election will be fair one. It needs to think about freshly whether BNP will participate in further election under the incumbent EC.

His comment came in at a protest rally organized at the national press club on Friday.

The former minister said, the general people could not cast their votes in free mind in the Khulna city corporation election. Our election agents were forced out from the centers. Voters were threatened and sued from home to homes.

Moudud said, we have to consider two things regarding the election. We have to think afresh whether BNP will participate in the next city corporation elections. Because, participating in election like this will be meaningless. People cannot cast their votes.

He said, police have conducted the Khulna city election. Police were more active than the Awami League leaders and workers. They have made the way clear so that Awami League candidate can win the election. This will happen in the next election.

Moudud Ahmed said, we have to think about tough programs gradually. Government has plans to hold election keeping Khaleda Zia in jail.
