President-PM greet women cricket team
President Mohammad Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina congratulated Bangladesh women cricket team for being champion in the Asia cup T20 tournament beating India.
In separate messages they congratulated the team.
In a congratulating message, President Hamid greeted all the players, coach and officials of the national women cricket team as well as officials of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) concerned with the T20 Asia Cup team.
“The women cricket team has brightened the image of Bangladesh in the world arena . . . I’m really proud of their team spirit and their tremendous success,” he said.
The President hoped that the Bangladesh cricket team would continue its winning spree in days to come.
In a congratulatory message, Sheikh Hasina, now in Quebec of Canada to join Outreach Session of the G7 Summit, greeted all the players, coach and officials of the national women cricket team as well as Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials concerned for clinching the T20 Asia Cup.
“The whole nation is proud of seeing the team spirit of our players and their tremendous performance,” she said.
Sheikh Hasina said the historic success is the outcome of proper patronization and support to the game by the present government.
She hoped that the winning spree of the Bangladesh women cricket team would continue in the future.
Bangladesh defeat India by three wickets in the final of the T20 Asia Cup to clinch a memorable victory. Batting first, India scored 112 runs for 9 in 20 over and in reply, Bangladesh scored 113 runs for 7 in 20 overs.
