HC orders to block pornography websites for 6 months

The High Court (HC) has given order to block all the pornography websites of the country for six months.

Along with this direction was given to follow the order to post and telecommunication ministry Secretary; information ministry Secretary; law, justice and parliamentary affairs Secretary; BTRC and five mobile telephone operators including Grameen Phone, Banglalink, Airtel and Robi.

Writ petitioner lawyer Barrister Mohammad Humayun Kabir Pallab confirmed about the court order.

The HC bench comprising Justice Mainul Islam Chowdhury and Justice Md. Ashraful Kamal delivered the order after hearing on Monday.

Barrister Humayun Kabir Pallab took part in the hearing for the petitioner. Advocate Hasan Tarek, Barrister Mozammel Haque and Barrister Majedul Kader accompanied him.

Humayun Kabir said, the HC delivered the order to block all pornography websites for six months.

Besides, the HC issued rule wants to know why direction will not be given to shut all the pornography websites permanently. The court also wants to know why direction will not be given to attach the national identity number to determine the age 18 year for using all social media and facebook and why direction will not be given to mobile phone operators to stop short term attractive internet offers.
