Smartphone, tab fair begins in city

A three-day fair of smartphones, tablets and related gadgets began in Dhaka on Thursday.

Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar and State Minister for ICT Division Junaid Ahmed Palak will formally inaugurate the fair in the afternoon.

The country’s major brands and top companies will participate in the fair at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre at Agargaon in Dhaka.

The 11th edition of the event will remain open from 10am to 8pm everyday for all.

Global and local brands like Samsung, Symphony, Tecno, Huawei, Nokia, Oppo, WE, Lava, Vivo, iPhone, WinMax, Lenovo, DTEL, Umidigi, Solar Electro and so on will participate in the fair, said Expo Maker strategic planner Muhammad Khan.

He said the companies would offer special price cut and gift items during the fair.

The visitors would be able to pick smart devices from a variety of brands under one roof, Muhammad Khan added.

Internet-based tech news producer is the title sponsor of the fair, the organisers informed.
