Oikyafront moves away from Gaibandha-3 election

Jatiya Oikyafront candidate and BNP leader Professor Dr. Moinul Hasan Sadik is not going to take part in the election of Gaibandha-3 (Sadullapur-Palashbari) constituency.

On Thursday afternoon, the last day of nomination paper withdrawal he appealed to withdraw the nomination paper to the district Returning Officer.

Earlier, after holding a press conference at district BNP office Dr. Moinul Hasan Sadik announced to move away from election. At that time he alleged that the election of December 30 will remain as a chapter of stigma. The festival of vote dacoity, seizing of vote centers and filling up the ballot boxes in the earlier night took places. For this reason BNP will not take part in the election in this constituency. So he decided to withdraw the candidature.

Besides, BSD nominated candidate for Left Democratic Alliance with symbol ‘ladder’ Agriculturalist Sadequl Islam Golap also withdrew his nomination paper. After withdrawing his nomination paper he told the newsmen, the way that the election of farce held in December 30, in that case there is no possibility of holding any fair election under this government. For this reason according to the decision of his party BSD and Left Democratic Alliance he withdrew his name from the parliament election scheduled to be held on January 27.

Mentionable, Election Commission suspended the election in that constituency on December 20 following the death of Oikyafront candidate and former minister Dr. TIM Fazle Rabbi on December 19. Later the election schedule was declared. The election will be held on January 27 in this constituency.
