40th BCS preliminary test likely in April

The 40th BCS preliminary examination is likely to be held in April, said Public Service Commission (PSC) Chairman Dr Muhammed Sadique.

Sadique told media that they are planning to take the preliminary exam between the gaps of two public examinations – SSC and HSC. SSC exams are set to be held in February while the HSC in May.

A record number of 4,12,532 candidates have applied in against of 1,903 posts for the 40th BCS.

In total, 200 cadres will be recruited in administration, 72 in police, 25 in foreign affairs, 24 for taxes, 32 in customs and excise and 800 in education through the BCS.
