Yearly eight lakh jobless being added: CPD
Every year two lakh people are entering into the job market and on the other hand job is being created for one lakh 30 thousand people. As the employment opportunities are not created every year eight lakh people are being added as jobless.
The information was upheld at a dialogue titled 'Growth and Preference' organized by Center for Policy Dialogue (CPD) at a hotel in the capital on Sunday.
The dialogue revealed that discrimination has turned into extreme level as growth facilities are not disseminated equally.
In the key note paper it was said, though huge development was done in the economic sector in the last 10 years but employment growth has remained as the prime challenge and the scenario of discrimination has increased the concern.
It also said, every year two lakh people are entering into the job market and against it one lakh 30 thousand employment are being created. In addition eight lakh people are being added as jobless every year.
The discussants said, imperative should be paid in education and health sectors. Health service system has collapsed in the grassroots level. Though there was infrastructure development for the hospitals but there is no transparency in the service.
Planning Minister Abdul Mannan, Deputy Education Minister Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury Nowfel, educationist Dr. Rehman Sobhan and others were present in the CPD dialogue.
