Sajeda Chowdhury Deputy Leader of House again

Awami League presidium member Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury has got the responsibility as Deputy Leader of House again. President Md. Abdul Hamid has issued an order in this regard on Monday.

Earlier in February 2009 she became deputy leader of house.

Sajeda Chowdhury is involved in politics with Awami League from 1956. She was the general secretary of Bangladesh Mahila Awami League from 1969 to 1975. She was the founding director of Kolkata Gobra Nursing Camp during the ongoing liberation war. She took part in the liberation war in 1971.

She was the director of Bangladesh Women Rehabilitation Board during 1972-1975, national commissioner of Bangladesh Girl Guide during 1972-1976 and after the killing of Bangabandhu in 1976 she discharged her duty as the acting general secretary of Bangladesh Awami League.

She was the general secretary of Bangladesh Awami League from 1986 to 1992, from 1992 she is performing her responsibility as Awami League presidium member.

In the eleventh national parliament election she was elected from Faridpur-2 (Nagarkanda, Salta and Sadarpur) constituency. She was also elected Member of Parliament in the tenth parliament from the same area.
