Students leave road, agitation again from Wednesday
The students, who took their position on roads following the death of Abrar Ahmed Chowdhury in a road accident at Basundhara residential area, have suspended their agitation program for today (Tuesday). The students have declared to take their position on roads from 8 am tomorrow (Wednesday). Abrar, a student of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) lost his life due to reckless competition between two buses.
The decision of waging movement against road accidents came from representative of students of BUP Maishanur.
Maishanur said, Mayor Atiqul Islam assured has assured us that he will set up a foot over bridge in front of Basundhara gate. Abrar’s father will inaugurate the foot over bridge. The movement was suspended for today considering safety for the students. We will take our position on road from tomorrow morning.
Mentionable, Abrar Ahmed Chowdhury, a student of International Relations department of BUP lost his life while crossing the road at Basundhara gate area. A bus of Suprovat Paribahan ran over him. After the incident students took their position on road and chanted slogan ‘We want justice’. Additional police forces were deployed on the spot.
