Saudi immigration to be done in Bangladesh for Hajj pilgrims
State Minister for Religious Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah said, Bangladeshi hajj passengers will need not to bear the sufferings of Saudi immigration process after going to the airport of Saudi Arabia. Their immigration formalities will be done in Bangladesh.
He said these at a press conference at the secretariat on Friday.
The State Minister said, we had a courtesy call with the visiting representative team of Saudi immigration authority at the Hotel Intercontinental on Thursday evening. There both the parties agreed to complete immigration process for the Bangladeshi hajj passengers in Bangladesh instead of Saudi Arabia.
He said, under the new rules the passengers of Bangladesh Biman will perform their immigration formalities at Ashkona Hajj Camp and the passengers of Saudi Airlines will do that at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
Then the passengers of both the Airlines will be taken to an exclusive zone. The immigration formalities that are usually done in Jeddah will be done at the zone.
Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah said, activities of the exclusive zone will be operated by technical team from Saudi Arabia. After completing two phases immigration formalities the passengers will board on the flight. They will need not to face any immigration sufferings after reaching in Saudi Arabia. As a result the Bangladeshi hajj passengers will get rid of 6 to 7 hours waiting in Jeddah airport.
