Bhutan wants to recruit physicians from Bangladesh

To meet their demand of physicians for health sector, Bhutan has shown keen interest to recruit physicians from Bangladesh.

After holding bilateral meeting at Prime Minister’s Office on Saturday Foreign Secretary Shahidul Haque said this while briefing the newsmen. Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim was present in the briefing.

In the bilateral meeting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina led the Bangladesh side and the visiting Bhutanese Prime Minister Dr. Lotay Tshering led the delegation of Bhutan.

The Foreign Secretary said, Bhutan has shown their interest to recruit physicians from Bangladesh to meet their demand of physicians in health sector.

In this regard Sheikh Hasina said that she will look into the matter personally as cooperation between the two countries is increasing day by day and quota for students has been raised from 10 per cent to 15 per cent in the medical colleges and nursing colleges in Bangladesh.

Shahidul Haque said, the Bhutanese Prime Minister praised the pharmaceutical industry of Bangladesh.

He also said that Dr. Lotay Tshering also praised the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Lotay Tshering who is a physician also praised about contribution of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s daughter Saima Wazed Hossain in autism sector.
