Biman will pay medical expenses to the injured in Yangon airport

Biman Bangladesh Airlines will bear the expense of medical treatment for the passengers who were injured in an accident at Yangon International Airport. General Manager (Public Relations) Shakil Meraj of Biman delivered the information to the newsmen on Thursday.
He said, a Dash-8 Q-400 aircraft of Biman Bangladesh Airlines skidded off the runway on Wednesday due to rough weather. Around 30 people were injured in the accident.
Of the injured 11 were given primary treatment and 18 are undergoing treatment at hospital in Myanmar. But all are out of danger.
Shakil Meraj said, all expenses of treatment will be provided to the injured and along with initiatives has also been taken on behalf of Biman to provide all kinds of services and cooperation to the passengers. Bangladesh embassy in Myanmar is inquiring about overall matters of the patients.
On Wednesday evening at 6:22 pm an aircraft (Dash-8) of Bangladesh Biman (BG-060) skidded off the runway while landing at Yangon International Airport. There were total 35 passengers including pilots and cabin crews. Of them 5 were Chinese, one Indian, two British, three Myanmar nationals, one from Denmark, one from France, one Canadian and 15 Bangladeshi nationals. Of the passengers 11 were released from the airport after giving primary treatment. Besides, 18 were shifted to nearby hospital.
