OC Moazzem won’t be spared: Home Minister
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, Nusrat murder case accused Officer in Charge (OC) of Sonagazi police Station Moazzem will not be spared.
He said this to the newsmen while exchanging Eid greetings at his office room at the ministry in the secretariat on Sunday.
Asaduzzaman Khan said, case has been filed against former OC Moazzem. His name is in the charge sheet. So there is no scope for him to get spared. He will be awarded punishment according to the law. As he is absconding so time is needed to find him out. Nobody is above the law.
Mentionable, madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi was set ablaze on April 6. She died on April 10 while undergoing treatment. Some days ago before the incident Nusrat went to Sonagazi police station to lodge a complain of sexual harassment against madrasa principal Siraj-ud-Doula. At that time the then OC Moazzem harassed Nusrat by asking objectionable questions and spread the video on social media. Later a case was filed against Moazzem under Digital Security Act. On May 27 Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) submitted the charge sheet and arrest warrant was also issued against him on that day. After that Moazzem is absconding.
