Myanmar not willing to take back Rohingyas: PM
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, Rohingyas will return Myanmar from Bangladesh- everybody wants that except Myanmar. This is the problem. We have signed agreement but did not get response from them. Myanmar itself is not willing. But let’s see whether we can get response by asking them all together.
She said these at a press conference organized at Gonobhaban on Sunday afternoon. Prime Minister organized the press conference to speak about her recent official visit in Japan, Saudi Arabia and Finland.
Sheikh Hasina said, visit will take place in China like that was done in Japan. There was invitation but I could not manage time as there were some emergency matters in the parliament in that time. Chinese President has invited again in the month of July. Our budget will be passed by that time. There in the summer World Economic Summit will take place. There will be summer summit and Chinese President has invited. Insha Allah I will go there in July.
She said, everybody respects father of the nation Bangabandhu. But attempts were made to erase his name from Bangladesh. But it cannot be erased from the history. People who were young at that time are in top position of politics at the moment. They know Bangabandhu. So I have good relation with them. I have invitation from them. But it is not possible to attend all the invitations. I am getting older. Last time I could not go due to shortage of time, hope that I will go to China in July.
Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam accompanied the Prime Minister during the press conference.
