Health checkup of hajj passengers begins June 16
The health checkup of hajj aspirants of this year under government and private initiatives will begin from June 16. Health checkup of every hajj passengers will be performed in different health centers including government medical colleges and civil surgeon’s offices.
During the health checkup basically preventive vaccines of meningitis or influenza will be given. If there is other problem then prescription and suggestion will be given. Health certificates will be given and the passengers have to preserve those.
In a notice of religious affairs ministry it said, health checkup will be performed for Dhaka district and metropolitan area at the following hospitals- 1. Dhaka Medical College Hospital, 2. Sir Salimullah Medical College and Mitford Hospital, 3. Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, 4. Kurmitola General Hospital, 5. 500-bed General Hospital, Mugda, 6. Government Employees Hospital, Phulbaria, 7. Bangladesh Secretariat Clinic, 8. Combined Military Hospital, 9. Central Police Hospital, Rajarbag.
Besides, two medical centers were made operational- Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital, Gazipur and Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master General Hospital, Tongi.
For hajj passengers of other districts the medical checkup will be performed in government medical college hospitals in divisional cities and in Civil Surgeon’s office in the district cities.
The hajj flights are expected to begin from July 4. This year one lakh 27 thousand 198 persons will perform hajj from Bangladesh under the quota.
