Fire that broke out at Rajdhani Supermarket in the capital’s Tikatuli area has been brought under control.
On Wednesday at around 6:35 pm the Fire Service members brought the fire under control.
Deputy Director of Fire Service Debashish Bardhan said, there was no adequate fire extinguishing mechanism in Rajdhani Supermarket. The fire was brought under control after one and half an hour of effort.
About the damage caused by the fire he said, according to our preliminary assumption 10 to 12 shops were gutted. Cost of the damage will be informed later.
About cause of the fire he said, the fire originated from the first floor of the market. A probe committee will be formed in this connection. The cause of fire can be known after the investigation.
Meanwhile the businessmen said, the fire originated from the first floor and it caused damage to more than fifty shops on the floor.
Earlier, 25 units of fire fighters rushed to the spot after getting the news of fire in the market that broke out at around 5:15 pm.
