5 killed in bus-autorickshaw collision in Rajbari

The head on collision between a bus and a nasimon (autorickshaw) has left five people dead at Khankhanapur in Rajbari district. At least 8 people were also injured in the accident.

The accident took place at around 3 pm on Sunday.

The deceased are identified as- Rashida Begum (40), her daughter Taslima Khatun (15), Imran Hossain Rifat (22) and Mostafa Sheikh (45). The dead body of one is yet to be identified.

Masud Parvez, Officer in Charge of Ahladipur highway police station under Rajbari sadar upazila confirmed the accident and said, a bus of Greenline Paribahan from Jashore-Benapole pushed a locally made autorickshaw near Boro Bridge area at Charkhankhanapur. Five people died on the spot. Of them three are male and two female.

The OC also said that the dead bodies were recovered and sent to the morgue. Two injured were also admitted in the hospital.
