Shopping malls to remain closed from March 25 to 31

To control the coronavirus situation Bangladesh Shop Owners Association has decided to keep all the shopping malls shut in the country from March 25 to March 31. But medicine stores, kitchen markets and shops of essential commodities will be out of its coverage.

The decision was informed through a notice on behalf of the shop owners association on Sunday evening.

The notice said, according to the decision of Bangladesh shop owners’ association executive working committee, president of the association Md. Helaluddin, secretary general Md. Zahirul Haque Bhuiyan and senior vice president Taufiq Ahsan in a joint statement said, the markets have turned customer less due to the risk of coronavirus spread. To protect the workers, employees and owners from the infection all the super shops, super markets and markets will remain closed from March 25 to March 31. It also said the kitchen markets, groceries, medicine stores and shops of essential items will remain open.
