Educational institutions to remain closed till May 30

To contain the coronavirus pandemic the government has declared general holiday till May 30. In a circular served by the ministry of public administration it was said that the educational institutions of the country will remain closed in this period. It was said that the educational institutions will remain closed till May 30 as the vacation of Ramadan and Eid has begun.

On Wednesday, Md. Mahbub Hossain, Secretary of secondary and higher education division of the education ministry said, the government has declared general holiday till May 16. According to the education calendar decision has been taken to close the educational institutions till May 30, as the holiday of Ramadan and Eid has begun.

The Secretary also said, the decision of resuming or closing the educational institutions will be informed later considering the corona situation.

Meanwhile, the ministry of primary and mass education declared the holiday till the Eid for government and private primary schools of the country. Earlier, all types of educational institutions were declared closed from March 17 to contain the coronavirus. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also in a video conference informed that if the situation does not improve then the educational institutions will be closed till the month of September.
