Fire breaks out at a paper factory in capital

A fire breaks out at a paper factory at Shaheednagar area under Lagbag police station in the capital. The fire breaks out in the paper factory at road number 6 of Shaheednagar at around 9:30 pm on Saturday.

Seven units of fire service are working on the spot. But how the fire originated that could not be known yet.

Duty Officer of Fire Service and Civil Defense head office Ataur Rahman confirmed about the incident to Rtv online and said, the reason of fire could not be known but seven units of fire fighters are working to douse the fire.

On February 20 a fire at Churihatta in Chawkbazar claimed 71 lives. Fire service later said that the fire spread dangerously as there were chemicals and flammable materials like plastics. After that incident DSCC began drives to relocate chemical and plastic godowns from the area. Following obstacles from the businessmen DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon declared to relocate the chemical godowns from the area.

Earlier in the night of June 3, 2010 a devastating fire broke out at a plastic factory at Sap Mandir road area of Agamasi Lane which claimed 125 lives.
