No hijacker in Dhaka: DMP Commissioner
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia said, there is no hijacker in the capital. City dwellers are returning home without tension after their Eid shopping throughout the day and night.
He said these while distributing new Eid dresses among the poor at Paltan Community Center on Wednesday noon.
Asaduzzaman Mia said, no incident of theft was happened after beginning of the month of Ramadan. Besides, no incident of dacoity or hijack was happened. There is no hijack party, molom party or micro party. All were detained and sent to jail. People are shopping throughout the midnight. As security is being provided in the markets like that police patrol teams are working on the roads. Plain cloth intelligence forces are on duty.
He said, drugs are being curbed like the way terrorism and militancy were root out. There is no drug in Dhaka city. All will be brought under law if involved in drug trading.
About security during Eid he said, police were deployed in bus terminals, railway stations and launch ghats. People can return to their homes without any hindrance during Eid and also can return to Dhaka under peaceful atmosphere.
CTTC unit Chief and Additional Commissioner Monirul Islam, Additional Commissioner (Crime) Krishnapada Roy, Deputy Commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (Motijheel division) Anwar Hossain and others were present on the occasion.
