All drug hubs will be demolished: DMP Commissioner

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md. Asaduzzaman Mia said, all the drug hubs of Dhaka will be demolished like the way militant network was wiped out.

He said this while responding to the question of newsmen after distributing Eid clothes to the poor people at Gulistan area in the capital on Tuesday.

The DMP Commissioner said, all the drug traders of Dhaka are being arrested after identification. Drives will go on in the drug hubs. Drug traders, their associates, helping hands and shelter providers- all will be brought to book undermining their influences. Besides, stern action will be taken against the law enforcing agency members if they are found associated with drug business.

Asaduzzaman Mia said, stern action will be taken against law enforcing agency members if they harass any innocent people in the name of anti narcotic drive.

He said, on Monday while conducting drive across the country RAB arrested 20 drug traders and also awarded different terms punishment to 27 drug addicts. Besides, on the same day during anti narcotic drive 50 drug traders and addicts were detained from city’s Hatirjheel and Modhubag area. Later, 17 were released following scrutinize.
