Bail rejected, order to send ex-OC Moazzem in jail

The court has rejected bail plea of former Officer in Charge (OC) of Sonagazi police station Moazzem Hossain in connection with Feni madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi murder case and ordered to send him in jail. The cyber tribunal delivered the order on Monday. He was produced before the court at around 2:15 pm.
The court fixed the date June 30 for next hearing to frame charge. On the other hand lawyer of Moazzem sought bail in the court of cyber tribunal judge Mohammad As Shams Jaglul Hossain.
The vehicle carrying Moazzem Hossain reached at the cyber tribunal at around 12 pm. He was kept at the court lock up. He was produced before the court at around 2 pm. He was handed over to Feni police on Monday morning from Shahbag police.
Shahbag police station Inspector (operations) Mahbubur Rahman confirmed the matter and said to Rtv online, a team of Sonagazi police reached in Dhaka yesterday night. We have handed over him to them this morning. They have brought Moazzem Hossain to the cyber tribunal.
A team of Shahbag police station arrested him from High Court area on Sunday.
In the month of March when Nusrat filed complain of sexual harassment against madrasa principal Siraj-ud-Dowla, Moazzem Hossain was the Officer in Charge of Sonagazi police station. There was allegation that on March 27 Moazzem asked some objectionable questions to Nusrat and recorded that. Later he spread the video on social media. In this connection Barrister Sayedul Haque Suman filed a case with Cyber Crime Tribunal. Investigation agency Police Bureau of Investigation submitted the report on May 27 following court order. The tribunal issued arrest warrant against Moazzem Hossain on that day.
On April 10 Moazzem Hossain was withdrawn from Sonagazi police station on the night of Nusrat’s death. He was suspended on May 8 and attached to Rangpur range DIG office on May 12. The arrest warrant reached in Feni and Rangpur range office on June 3. By this time Moazzem Hossain went into hiding. He was arrested from Shahbag Kadam Foara area on Sunday when tried to file bail plea.
