18 lakh pcs Yaba recovered from Naf river

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has recovered 18 lakh pieces Yaba tablets from Naf river in Teknaf upazila under Cox’s Bazar district. The Yabas were recovered on Friday early morning.

Taknaf-2 BGB Commander Asaduzzaman Chowdhury told Rtv online, acting on a tip off that a big consignment of Yaba will arrive from Myanmar, BGB took their position on the Naf river on Thursday night.

Later on Friday early morning a boat came through the river. The BGB members challenged the boat and ordered its passengers to stop. But the Yaba smugglers left the boat on the bank of the river and ran away through the Keora garden.

The BGB Commander further said, later searching the boat a sack full of 18 lakh pieces Yaba tablets were recovered.

Meanwhile, BGB also detained a man along with 2 thousand 9 hundred 96 pieces Yaba from Damdamia area in Teknaf. The further information will be given after holding a press conference, BGB also said.
