Economic Association proposes 12.5 lakh crore taka budget
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal is going to propose the budget for next financial year in the parliament on June 13. He also hinted that the size of the proposed budget could be 5.25 lakh crore taka.
But Bangladesh Economic Association (BEA) has informed about their proposed budget which is more than double than that.
A shadow budget of 12 lakh 40 thousand 90 crore taka has been proposed on behalf of the organization for the 2019-20 fiscal year.
The program of alternative budget proposal for 2019-20 fiscal year to build the country with spirit of liberation war in the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was organized at CIRDAP auditorium in the capital on Saturday.
BEA president Abul Barakat presented the budget proposal there.
In their proposed budget BEA has fixed the revenue income 10 lakh 2 thousand 510 crore taka. Of those 69 per cent is direct duty and 31 per cent is indirect duty. Of the allocated budget 81 per cent will come from revenue collection.
At that time Abul Barakat said, there is no alternative of good governance to keep the economic trend. He also said about presenting budget with Bangabandhu’s economic spirit for socioeconomic development of the country.
He said, Bangladesh is in good position in macroeconomic standard comparing to some other countries. The country will progress further with all out effort of all.
