Retaking of DU ‘Gha’ unit admission test on November 16

The retaking of Dhaka University’s ‘Gha’ unit admission test under social science faculty for the session 2018-19 will be held on November 16, Friday. The test will be held in the university campus on that day from 3 pm to 4 pm under conventional method.

The information was published on the university website on Friday. The decision was taken in the Dean committee meeting.

The 18 thousand 463 candidates who came out successful in the earlier test will be able to take part in the examination. In this connection they have to download new admit card from the university website.

On October 12, Friday from 10 am to 11 am the admission test of ‘Gha’ unit was held in 81 centers in Dhaka university campus and outside. Later allegation of question leak was raised before beginning of the test. Based on the allegation the university authority formed an investigation committee headed by Pro VC (administration) Professor Dr. Mohammad Samad.  Later university students observed different programs seeking cancellation of the test. As the university authority published the results of the test on October 16, a third year student of law department began hunger strike until death in front of Raju sculpture on that day. Later abnormality was found in the results published at 3:30 pm.

Breaking all the records of near past 26.21 percent students came out successful in the test of the unit. Besides, 80 out of top 100 successful candidates failed in their respective unit tests including the candidate who stood first in the test.  Writ petition was also filed in the High Court seeking cancellation of the test. By this time the university authority formed another investigation committee on October 22. On the following day the authority decided to hold the test afresh.
