Meeting to drive away confusion over Shab-e-Barat date
National moon sighting committee is going to hold an emergency meeting on Saturday as confusion has created in peoples mind regarding the date of Shab-e-Barat and over sighting the moon of Shaban month.
State Minister for religious affairs and chairman of national moon sighting committee Sheikh Md. Abdullah will preside over the meeting at the meeting room of Islamic Foundation in the Baitul Mukarram national mosque.
Those who have claimed that they saw the moon on April 6 are asked to present in the meeting.
Earlier on last Saturday the decision was taken to observe the holy Shab-e-Barat on April 21 night after holding meeting of national moon sighting committee.
On that day after the meeting the State Minister said that Shaban moon was not sighted throughout the country. So according to the rules Shab-e-Barat will be observed on Shaban 14 night that means on April 21 night.
But at a press conference on Thursday leaders of an organization named Majlisu Ruiyatul Hilal said that Shaban moon was sighted on April 6 and the administration was informed about this but no decision came in accordingly.
