Death of Razib-Dia: 3 get life term including 2 bus drivers

The court has awarded life term imprisonment for three people in connection with the killing of two students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College in a road accident. The two students- Dia Khanam Mim and Abdul Karim Razib were killed as a bus ran over them during mad rush between two buses.
Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge KM Imrul Kayesh delivered the verdict after 3:15 pm on Sunday.
The convict are- drivers of Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan Masum Billah and Md. Zobaer Suman and the driver’s assistant Md. Asad Kazi.
Besides, the court has acquitted Jabal-e-Noor owner Md. Jahangir Alam and driver’s assistant Md. Enayet Hossain as allegations were not proved against them. Another convict Asad Kazi is on the run.
Earlier, on November 14, the date for delivering verdict on Sunday was fixed after completion of presenting arguments by the lawyers of state and the accused.
Mentionable, on July 29, 2018 twelfth grade student Abdul Karim Razib (18) and eleventh grade student Dia Khanam Mim (17) were killed as a bus ran over them during mad rush between two buses of Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan in front of MES bus stand near the Kurmitola General Hospital on airport road in the capital. On that day Mim’s father Jahangir Alam filed a case with Cantonment police station.
Six people were made accused in the case. Of them Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan owner Jahangir Alam, two bus drivers Masum Billah and Jubaer Suman and bus driver’s assistant Enayet Hossain are in the jail. Another owner of Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan, Shahadat Hossain is in bail. Another driver’s assistant Kazi Asad is absconding.
