Quader out of danger, will be moved to cabin later

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader is out of danger at present. After conducting successful bypass surgery he is currently at the ICU of Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore. Quader will be moved to the hospital cabin after 3 to 4 days.

Quoting the medical board, Obaidul Quader's treatment coordinator and Professor of BSMMU Dr. Abu Nasar Rizvi said these on Friday at the hospital lobby.

Obaidul Quader's wife Advocate Isratunnesa Quader, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, bridges division Senior Secretary Khondoker Anwarul Islam, Bangladesh High Commissioner in Singapore Mostafizur Rahman and others were present at the hospital lobby at that time.

Abu Nasar Rizvi said, Obaidul Quader's IOBP machine has been removed and all the parameters are well. He will be moved to the cabin after 3 to 4 days.

About the recent condition of Quader he said that he had a conversation with the medical board at 3 pm Bangladesh time. They said that Obaidul Quader's physical condition is well at the moment. He has recovered from the post operation crisis. His supportive RVP machine was removed on Friday. The rest of the parameters are well.

Dr. Rizvi said, the doctors have said that they will remove the trackial tupe from Quader's body after two or one day. Then he will be moved to the cabin. Physicians will review his condition some more days in the hospital. A follow up will be made after about one week. And if that completes in a well manner he can be taken to the country in mid April.

The bypass surgery of Obaidul Quader was conducted on Wednesday under guidance of Mount Elizabeth Hospital cardio thoracic surgeon Dr. Sebastian Kumar Sami.

The 67 years old minister is suffering from heart disease, diabetes and COPD. On March 3 Obaidul Quader was admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) with complain of breathing problem. There he was diagnosed as a case of coronary artery blockages. He was shifted to Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore on March 4. From that day he is undergoing treatment in the hospital.
