Not on parole, want unconditional release of Khaleda Zia: Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, we do not want Begum Khaleda Zia’s release on parole, we want unconditional release. In which cases Khaleda Zia is being imprisoned for 14 months but in the similar cases ruling party leaders and activists are moving outside on bail. To get bail is a civic right of Begum Zia.
He said these at a discussion organized by BNP at Engineers Institutions in the capital on Sunday.
Mirza Fakhrul said, the whole country has turned into a prison. The pride that we achieved through liberation war in 1971, this government has damaged all of the attainment.
He said, Begum Zia wans to take treatment from specialized hospital according to her will, it is her right.
To the party leaders and activists he said, wage movement on streets for release of Begum Zia after being united.
In the program of token hunger strike BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed said, it is not possible to make Begum Zia free from jail through legal process as influences are prevailing over courts. She can be released only through movement if you want.
Another standing committee member Mirza Abbas said, it is not possible through compassion, we have to release Begum Khaeda Zia through movement. Take your preparations, time will come, declaration will come.
BNP standing committee member Goyeshwar Chandra Roy said, Sheikh Hasina was released on parole but Khaleda Zia did not seek parole. We would tell the home minister that within a short period your leader has to seek parole to the people. We do not want compassion of anybody.
