Law Minister Advocate Anisul Huq said, one has to seek parole to get release from jail, the government cannot offer parole if he or she does not want. It needs to file application to get parole.
He said these while answering to the questions of newsmen at law, justice and parliamentary affairs ministry at the secretariat on Monday.
The Law Minister said, it is being said about imprisoned BNP Chairperson that efforts are going on to release her forcibly on parole. But if anybody does not want parole then he or she cannot be released on parole.
Recently some ministers said that Khaleda Zia may be released on parole if logical reasons are showed. But the BNP leaders including its Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the government wants to release Khaleda Zia on parole by force, although it is her right to get release from jail on bail.
Meanwhile, in response to a question of newsmen BNP’s senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, she is eligible to get bail in this case. Then why the question of parole has risen? We would ask the government not to create hindrance over her bail.
