‘BNP is like a banyan tree. So it does not matter if one or two leaves are fallen from the tree’.
After pointing out the incident of taking oath of a Member of Parliament (MP) going beyond party decision BNP standing committee member Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain made this comment.
He said these after paying homage to the grave of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman on behalf of Jatiyatabadi Tanti Dal at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital on Saturday.
Why BNP MPs are taking oath after going beyond party loyalty- in response to this question the former minister said, there are examples in our history. After the death of Ziaur Rahman some influential ministers of the president’s cabinet even Huda and Matin tried to spit BNP.
Mosharraf said, attempts were made during one eleven but they failed. We think that if somebody takes steps after going beyond the party decision then action will be taken according to the party constitution. In that case no harm will be created to the party.
Answering to the questions of newsmen the BNP leader said, Begum Khaleda Zia is being imprisoned to put pressure on BNP. She is not granted bail though her case is eligible to grant bail. She is being made captive by filing other cases.
Dr. Mosharraf said, it is clear before the eyes of people- this government is creating different pressures on opposition party to remain in power unilaterally.
