Awami League opens cell to monitor ‘Fani’
Awami League acting general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif said, a monitoring cell has been formed for cyclonic storm ‘Fani’ on behalf of Bangladesh Awami League.
He said these at a press conference after holding party’s emergency secretarial meeting at Awami League president’s political office at Dhanmondi in the capital on Friday.
Hanif said, monitoring is going on after coordination between administration and party leaders and activists. Monitoring committees have been formed in the high ups of Awami League and in three divisions in Chattogram, Barishal and Khulna. Party based medical teams and relief items are prepared.
He said, Prime Minister and Awami League president Sheikh Hasina who is in United Kingdom, is taking information round the clock. She is maintaining round the clock communication with administration as well as with the party and giving necessary directions.
The acting general secretary of Awami League said, a committee has been formed led by social welfare subcommittee. This committee will monitor all the matters round the clock. Request is made to call in the number of 9677881 and 9677882 if anything happens before and after the cyclone. There is chance to send fax in the number of 9666550.
Hanif said, all preparations have been taken to face the calamity. Don’t be panicked about cyclone ‘Fani’. But you should go to the shelter centers when highest cautionary message is delivered. Do not hesitate to go to the shelter center.
He also said that Awami League leaders and activists will remain along with administration to face cyclonic storm ‘Fani’.
Awami League joint general secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanok, organizing secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim among others were present in the press conference.
