Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, my politics has begun from the student life. But I was not in any major post. I never wanted that. I performed my responsibility to create post and to appoint people there. I never thought that after 1975 I have to take such major responsibility.

She said these when Awami League leaders and activists came to greet her at Gonobhaban on Friday on the occasion of 39th home coming day of Prime Minister and Awami League president Sheikh Hasina.

At that time the Prime Minister said, when I returned in the country on that day (May 17, 1981) it was a windy day. We were being taken on a truck after the aircraft touched the land. Thousands of people gathered there avoiding the rain and storm. There were so many people that it took four hours time to reach at the Sangsad Bhaban area from the airport.

The daughter of Bangabandhu memorizes the brutal incident of killing father of the nation along with his family members on August 15, 1975. She said, I along with my younger sister Rehana went to Germany just 15 days ago, on July 30. Rehana was taking preparation for examination. Went to college. We have left all Kamal, Jamal, Rasel... On the 15th day we heard, nobody is alive, we are destitute. We were not allowed to return to the country. At one stage our uncle came and took us with him.

The Prime Minister said, I decided to come to the country. We did not know what to do, where to go. There were so many obstacles. But I decided to come in the country, I had to come. I came here to do something for the country.

Mentioning political ideology of Bangabandhu she said, I did my political activities with the ideology of my father. He worked for the country. He passed years after years in jail. But we had no complain. My mother was very thoughtful, she looked after the home as well as outside.

Mentioning the adverse situation after returning in the country the Awami League president said, there were obstacles in every step. Those who did not believe in spirit of liberation war were in power. 19 coups were originated from 1975 to 1982. Awami league fought for democracy one after another. Because we believe development of the country cannot possible without democratic system.
